Apple Vs. Crypto: MetaMask co-founder Dan Finlay wants to ‘Dump’ Apple
Ex-Apple employee Dan Finlay, co-founder of crypto wallet MetaMask, says he supports the industry abandoning Apple’s App Store. Finlay calls Apple’s 30% inapp purchase tax ‘an abuse to monopoly’. Dan tweeted, “I assume [MetaMask] is next, and every other wallet,’ today. “I’m ready for the Apple ecosystem to be destroyed.” The 30% tax is an abuse to monopoly.
Apple announced its new taxation policy regarding NFTs and crypto transfers in October 2022. Coinbase’s Wallet announced Thursday that users will no longer be able trade or transfer NFTs via its iOS app. This was due to Apple’s inability to integrate with blockchains such as Ethereum.
