“Crypto is in an age similar to the preconsumer-use period in the early 1990s, when the internet was still a way of living but was still being developed. It reminds me also of the early days of banking, when it was still navigating its digital shift. It’s an honor to be a part of Blockchain.com’s board and help it navigate the regulatory landscape, as one of the largest firms in its sector.
Between 1986 and 2001, Otting was a member of Union Bank’s group head of commercial banking, senior Vice President, executive vice presidency, and deputy regional vice presidential. He then spent nine years at U.S. Bank where, from 2010 to 2015, he held the roles of market president and executive vice president and manager of the East Region Commercial Banking Group. After that, Otting was named president, chief executive officer and a member on the board of OneWest Bank, until the bank’s merger with CIT Group in 2015.
