First Staking Pool on Chainlink Attracts $170M in LINK Tokens, Exceeding the Community Cap After 2 Days
On Tuesday, staking began and by Thursday, 24.27 millions LINK tokens had been secured to protect the network. Participants and node operators pledge their Chainlink LINK tokens to guarantee 4.75% annualized earnings. The Chainlink team tweeted on Thursday that the staking community pool had reached its cap of 22.5 millions LINK tokens. Despite the community allotment being met, node operators still have the ability to stake their coins as the entire staking pool has a limit of 25 million LINK. Node operators now have 730,000 LINK tokens to invest. This is in addition to the 25 million LINK staking pool that was available on Tuesday. The staked tokens currently have a value of $170 million at current prices. This is in line with the project’s “Chainlink Economics2.0” strategy.
