Yuga Labs accuses artists of copying bored ape NFTs
Despite the fact that a U.S. Federal Court refused Friday’s motion to dismiss objections by the Bored Ape Yacht Club founders, the legal dispute between Yuga Labs NFT developers Yuga Labs with an artist and his NFT business partner Jeremy Cahen has continued. In October, Ripps and Cahen filed a motion for dismissal of Yuga Labs opposition and also filed an anti-strategic lawsuit aimed at public participation (SLAPP). The Central California District Court has now dismissed these motions. Conceptual artist Ryder Ripps had previously described the lawsuit as an attack upon his freedom of speech and stated on Twitter that he would only settle the matter for $100 billion. His statement was deleted.
